Data models are aggregations of tables of data from HR services, other beqom sources, or external data. Together all this data creates a base for your budget, compensation round or process and provides the information on which analytic reports or dashboards are based.

Data modeler is available under Workbench > Data Management > Data Modeler. Access to Workbench depends on your role within the platform.
Click Create model in the upper-right part of the Data Modeler page. The Create model creation form is opened at the first step, Model details.
Fill in the basic details of the model:
Enter a title in the Title field.
Enter a description for the model in the Description field. We recommend that you state in this field the purpose of the model to avoid any confusion if you're creating several models in your system.
Click Next in the progress widget to move to the next step of the creation process: Data entities & sources.

Click Save and exit in the upper-right corner of the application to simply save your changes and finish the creation of the model later on.
Step 2 - Data entities & sources
Once you have entered the basic information, you need to define the entities and fields to include in your model. To add the entities, proceed as follows:
Using the search bar find the entities you would like to add. Select the entities by ticking the boxes next to their names. You may also click Select all button located above the list on the right to select all the available entities.
Click Next in the progress widget to move to the next step of the creation process: Summary.

Click Save and exit in the upper-right corner of the application to simply save your changes and finish the creation of the model later on.
Step 3 - Summary
In this step you may check all the data you chose for your model as well as view the Grid preview in the last section.
If you want to change any of your previous choices, click Back in the progress widget to return to the previous steps.
Click Publish in the progress widget to move to publish and activate your model

Viewing the preview grid
To see the Preview grid of your model, proceed as follows:
Locate in the list of data models, the data model that you want to view in preview grid.
Click the icon located in the far right of the row corresponding to the data model in the list. A contextual menu is displayed. Click Preview grid in the menu.
The preview grid window is opened at the bottom of the page.
Managing data models
The data modeler management interface is available under Workbench > Data Management > Data Modeler.
There are two statuses for data models: Draft and In use; only data models in Draft status can be edited.
Editing data models
The system enables you to make changes to the data models that are in Draft status.
To edit a data model, proceed as follows:
Locate in the list of data models, the data model that you want to edit.
Click the icon located in the far right of the row corresponding to the data model in the list. A contextual menu is displayed. Click Edit in the menu. Alternatively click on the name of the model. Model details window is opened at the right side of the page. Click Edit in the bottom right corner of the window.
The library is opened at step 1 of the form Model details.
Change the basic parameters of the model, such as its title and description.
Click Next in the progress window. You are directed to step 2 of the form Data entities & sources.
Using the search tab find the entities you would like to add and tick the box next to chosen entity. You may also click Select all button located above the list on the right to select all the available entities.
Click Next in the progress window to move to step 3 of the form: Summary.
Check the parameters you chose for this model.
Click Publish in the progress window. Your changes to the model are now applied.
