Creating a comp element
The standard Pay Suite compensation tree offers a number of default compensation elements meant to cover a wide array of needs and compensation structures. In it, you will find standard elements such as base, bonus or vacation.
You can however, create custom compensation elements to adapt the compensation tree to the real compensation structure of your organization.
To create a custom comp element, proceed as follows:
Click Create comp element in the upper-right corner of the Compensation tree & Elements page. The comp element creation form is opened in the widget on the right side of the page.
Fill in the basic details of the comp element:
Enter a name of the new comp element in the Name field.
The Element type will be automatically set as Custom.
From the drop-down list choose the Parent element.
The Element code will be automatically generated after creation.
For mapping purpose you can also enter a Customer code that can be up to 50 characters long.
Enter a description for the comp element in the Description field. We recommend that you state in this field the purpose of the comp element to avoid any confusion if you're creating several comp elements in your system.
Click Save in the widget to save the created comp element or Cancel to cancel the process.
Now you will be able to view and manage your comp trees with custom and standard comp elements on the main page of this section. Toggle to enable or disable your comp elements.
You can differentiate the standard comp elements and custom comp elements by checking their codes on the main view page. The code for standard comp elements starts from BQBP1 and the code for the custom elements starts from BQBP2.
