Creating a population
Populations are set of workers grouped by common attribute or attributes. They are created for the purpose of performing a specific function such as for example implementing a process, sending a notification or applying a rule.
Step 1 - Basic information
To create a population, proceed as follows:
Click Create population in the upper-right part of the Population page. The population creation form is opened at the first step, Basic information.
Fill in the basic details:
Enter a name of the new population in the Name field.
Enter a description for the population in the Description field. We recommend that you state in this field the purpose of the population to avoid any confusion if you're creating several populations in your system.
Click Next in the progress widget to move to the next step of the creation process: Population criteria.
Step 2 - Population criteria
Once you have entered the basic information for the population, you need to configure population criteria.
To set the criteria, proceed as follows:
Choose the population scope.
Include everybody- this option will create a population out of all the workers in your organization. There will be no need to set any further criteria.
Custom criteria - this option will allows you to create rules that will determine the people included in this population.
In the Define custom criteria section add the condition blocks to configure the rule. Toggle to chose if the block should be related to All or Any. Select a Entity and Field from the drop-down list then select an Operator and insert the Value. Click Add condition to add more conditions to the block. You may remove any condition by clicking the X icon on the far right side.
Click Add block to add another criterion to your population. You may copy or delete your criteria by clicking the or .
Click Next in the progress widget to move to the next step of the creation process: Preview.
