Creating a custom fields

CompComplete allows customers to create their own custom fields in your instance. This way you can upload your own data into the application.

This is a tip message.

Customer fields are available under Workbench > Data Management > Custom Fields. Access to Workbench depends on your role within the platform.

To create a custom field, proceed as follows:

1. Click Create custom field in the upper-right corner of the page. The custom field creation form is opened.

2. Fill in the basic details of the custom field:

   • From the drop-down list select the entity to which this field belongs to.

   • Enter a Name of the field.

   • Enter a Description for the field. We recommend that you state the purpose of the custom field to avoid any confusion if you're creating several custom fields in your system.

   • Select the Type of the field from the drop down list.

3. Indicate whether this field contains personally identifiable information, allowing an individual's identity to be inferred directly or indirectly.

4. In Field behavior section you may set this custom field as required. If you do this, you must also enter a Default value.

5. Click Create at the top right corner of the page to finish the creation process.
