Adjusting cultural settings
The Pay Suite application allows you to customize cultural settings in order to fit the needs of your own organization. Using the dedicated location in the application, you can for instance define the default language of the platform or the default time zone.
Defining the default language
To define the default platform language that will be by default applied to all users, proceed as described below.
In the Cultural settings page, locate the Language section.
In the drop-down list, select the language that you want to use as the default platform language.
Click Save in the upper-right corner of the platform window. Your preference is saved and applied at system scale.
Disabling the platform localization
You have the possibility to disable the platform localization. When the localization is disabled, the text of the various interface elements will be replaced by the technical keys that underline all the text. This feature is mostly used by beqom for language maintenance, but also to identify the elements to be renamed in the context of custom localization.
To disable the application localization, proceed as follows:
In the Cultural settings page, locate the Localization subsection of the Language section.
Toggle off Enable localization. The platform localization is now disabled and the technical keys should be displayed.
Defining the default time zone
You can define a default time zone that will be applied to all users in the system. The time zone that you define will have a very strong impact on the system users since it will influence due dates, scheduled reminders, etc.
To define the default platform time zone, proceed as follows:
In the Cultural settings page, locate the Time zone section.
In the Country drop-down list, select the country whose time zone you want to apply.
For countries that span several time zones, such as the United States or Canada, use the Time zone drop-down list to select the specific time zone within the country.
Click Save in the upper-right corner of the platform window. Your preference is saved and the time zone is applied.
Adjusting the time zone by individual user
If your organization is spread across multiple countries, using a single time zone can lead to confusion for end-users, especially when it comes to due dates. To alleviate this concern, the platform lets you apply user local time to user sessions. When the local time is applied, the platform retains its default time zone, that will be used for all system administration and maintenance purposes, but all other dates and times will be adjusted according to the local preferences of the end-users.
To activate end-user local time, proceed as follows:
In the Cultural settings page, locate the Time zone section.
In the Local time subsection, toggle on User local time, if it's not already toggled on.
Click Save in the upper-right corner of the platform window. Your preference is now saved and the local time zone of individual users will be used.
